〜倍音を響かせ、自分自身の内側に眠る可能性を引き出す〜
学生の頃、ホロヴィッツやギレリスといった超一流ピアニストに
特別な感動を憶えた。実演に触れて身体の芯から震えたポゴレリチ、
プレトニョフ、アルゲリッチ、コブリン、ババヤン等、
耳元で囁くような弱音から空間を歪ませるほどの豊かなフォルテは、
聴いたことのない異次元世界だった。
その音色を自在に操る弾き方には秘密があると確信し、自分のテクニックを
改良すべく世界的な教授のセミナーやレッスンを受講してきたが、
納得のいくアドバイスは殆ど得られなかった。
「空間に膨張し、奥行きと柔和さの中に光沢と引力が伴う響き」
を追い求めていた私に、光を当ててくれたのが19世紀の２大巨頭、
ショパン＆リストを潮流とする楽派に開拓されたロシアピアニズムとの
出逢いである。約15年の研究過程でこれほど合理的に扱える技法は
他に無いと確信し、また私自身の求める響きが極めて少数派なメカニズムに
基づくため、 「The Maruo Method」を考案、開発。
世界的なピアニストが実際に行っている奏法体得を目指していく。
非音楽的で負担の大きな反復練習は不要。ピアノの真髄を求める方へ。

【The Maruo Method 発音基礎プログラム】
新しく開設されたこの基礎プログラムは、
通常レッスンのような譜読みに割くエネルギーを極力減らし、
独自の教材を用いて１音のクオリティや技法、
筋肉の使い方、レガートの基礎等を徹底習得し、
真の芸術性と音楽観による表現としての発音基礎を目指す。
鍵盤と全身のフィット感、
世界の超一流演奏家が実践する響きの感触を学び、
真の奏法習得に特化したプログラム。
ショパンのピアノ作品（ノクターン、マズルカ、エチュードから
可能な限りピアノ協奏曲を指標に）を１つの指標とすることで、
楽器の扱い方や他作曲家への対応力、
そして楽譜の立体的な読み方という領域へアプローチする。
子供の教材、丸尾祐嗣によるオリジナル教材、
丸尾祐嗣の推奨動画リスト等を活用し、
「真に豊かな響きによる演奏」について学ぶ。
初回は「奏法診断」として現状を把握。
身体の使い方、音の聴き方、音楽の捉え方から
今後の学習方針を検討。（※初回診断のみ、体験受講も可能）
本プログラムは、5回を1つの単位（サイクル）として構成。
筋肉の強化と使い方の定着を目指し、感覚的な領域で
テクニックと音色の自由なコントロールを目指す。
継続的な受講により、確かな手応えと一層深い音色の獲得に繋がる。
プログラム継続中の方に限り、日頃のご質問も適時受付。
〜プログラム最終指標、ショパンのピアノ協奏曲について〜
ショパンの協奏曲は、ピアノを扱う上で最も合理的な音型が
数多く散りばめられている。
プログラムの最後に協奏曲を選んだ受講者は、
丸尾祐嗣との２台ピアノ共演によるコンサートを予定。
オーケストラパート＆ソロパートの双方を学ぶことで、
The Maruo Method が目指す「管弦楽的且つ声楽的な表現」の
獲得を究極の指標とする。

※ビデオレッスンとは、予めご自身で撮影いただいた動画を
丸尾祐嗣へ送付。
添削後、レッスン返信動画を提供するスタイルです。
電波状況や海外在住による時差を気にせず受講できます。

ビデオレッスン受講者への返送動画は、下記３ステップに基づきます。
１：診断
奏法、音楽性、今後の指針を検討。
「力みが生じる」「音が響かない」「表現し切れない」
といった根本原因は、人それぞれに全く違います。
自分自身で気付かない癖、音の聴き方、音楽の捉え方まで
総合的な観点から診断致します。
２：処方箋の提示
丸尾祐嗣の実演を収録し、各個人に沿った実践法を論理的に解説。
基礎教材も１つの音楽作品として捉え、多様な表現方法を
検討しながら、「音色の選び方」も提示していきます。
３：丸尾祐嗣によるデモンストレーション
このメソッドの音色から生まれる演奏を
丸尾祐嗣本人が実践します。
【ビデオレッスン動画アップロードについて】
①YouTube 限定公開での送付
GoogleとYouTubeアカウントを作成し、
「限定公開」設定で動画をアップ後、URL送付。
② Googleドライブでの共有
Googleアカウントを作成後、「Googleドライブ」の
アプリにて撮影した動画をアップロードし、共有。
③「ギガファイル便」での転送
インターネットで「ギガファイル便」を検索し、
アップロードされたURLを送付。
この方法は、動画閲覧期限が設けられるため
復習で使いにくくなります。

平素は格別のご高配を賜り、厚く御礼申し上げます。
株式会社 北方音楽事務所（代表・プロデューサー：北方 喜旺丈）は、
2026年2月17日付でピアニスト・丸尾祐嗣（まるお ゆうじ）と
専属アーティスト契約を締結いたしました。
本契約に伴い、丸尾祐嗣の音楽活動およびレッスン体制を以下の通り改定し、
新たな体制へと移行いたします。
■ 新拠点（北海道）への移住について
自身の音楽と皆様へお届けする「響き」をより深く追求するため、
2026年より大自然に囲まれた北海道へアトリエ（生活および研究拠点）を
移設いたします。
究極の静寂の中で音の粒子と向き合い、自身の芸術をさらに深めてまいります。
■ 「3つの新体制」の始動
1. 「The Maruo Method」の開講（世界中からの受講対応）
2026年3月1日以降より、世界中どこからでも重力奏法の指導を受講いただけるよう、
「動画レッスン」を中心とした【ピアノを“歌わせる”発音基礎プログラム】を
開講いたします。
丸尾本人が一人ひとりの音色や身体の使い方と深く向き合うため、
お引き受けできる人数にはおのずと限りがございますが、
それぞれに合わせた解説教本（動画）を
お渡しする丁寧な指導を行ってまいります。
（※新規・既存問わず、皆様「初回：奏法診断」からのご案内となります）
＊北海道に拠点を移すまでの期間は、従来のレッスン方式も行います。
2. 全国各地でのマスタークラス開催
北海道を拠点としつつ、これまでのような関東・関西・九州などでの
演奏活動も継続してまいります。
それに伴い、各地を訪れる折に対面マスタークラスを開催いたします。
普段は動画解析で基礎を固め、出張時のマスタークラスで生の響きを
直接体感していただく、というハイブリッドな学びの場をご提供します。

3. 「マネジメント事務局」の開設
今後のレッスンのお問い合わせ、ご予約、各種ご連絡は、
丸尾個人のSNS等ではなく、すべてこちらの「マネジメント事務局」にて承ります。
事務手続きを専門スタッフに委ねることで、
丸尾本人はピアノの探求に専念させていただきます。

The Maruo Method
Awakening Inner Potential Through Harmonic Resonance
During my student years, I experienced a profound sense of awe when listening to the playing of legendary pianists such as Vladimir Horowitz and Emil Gilels.
Later, hearing performances in person by artists including Ivo Pogorelić, Mikhail Pletnev, Martha Argerich, and Sergei Babayan left an even deeper impression—one that resonated through the very core of my body.
From the most intimate pianissimo, as if whispered directly into the listener’s ear, to a powerful fortissimo capable of bending the very space around it, their sound seemed to belong to an entirely different musical dimension.
I became convinced that there must be a hidden principle behind the ability to control such a vast spectrum of tone.
In pursuit of this understanding, I attended numerous seminars and lessons given by internationally renowned professors, hoping to refine my own technique.
Yet despite these experiences, I rarely encountered explanations that truly satisfied my search.
The sound I was seeking was one that expands into space—possessing depth and warmth, yet at the same time radiating brilliance and a sense of natural attraction.
The turning point came through my encounter with the tradition of Russian pianism, a lineage shaped by the artistic currents of the 19th century and deeply influenced by the legacy of Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt.
Through nearly fifteen years of research and experimentation, I came to believe that no other approach provides such a logical and effective means of cultivating pianistic sound.
At the same time, I realized that the type of resonance I was pursuing is based on a relatively rare physical mechanism.
From this realization, I conceived and developed The Maruo Method—an approach designed to guide pianists toward the acquisition of the same fundamental principles of sound production practiced by the world’s leading performers.
The method does not rely on excessive or physically burdensome repetition that often leads to non-musical playing.
Rather, it is intended for those who seek to explore the true essence of the piano.
Lessons are conducted using a 1908 New York Steinway A-188, whose rich overtone spectrum provides an ideal environment for studying resonance and tonal color.
【Foundation Program for Piano Technique】
The Maruo Method Foundation Program is designed as an intensive study of the fundamental principles that shape pianistic sound.
Unlike conventional lessons that devote a large amount of time to score-reading, this program minimizes such demands and instead concentrates on the essential elements that form the basis of musical tone—the quality of a single sound, the development of legato, and the technical principles that allow sound to resonate freely.
At the center of this approach lies the physical relationship between the performer and the instrument.
Students explore the integration of the keyboard with the entire body, cultivating a natural coordination that allows the instrument to respond with greater resonance and freedom.
Particular attention is given to the sensory awareness of sound, drawing inspiration from the practices of the world’s finest performers—not only pianists, but also singers and string instrumentalists—whose artistry is rooted in the organic production of tone.
Rather than focusing solely on mechanical technique, the Maruo Method seeks to develop a refined sensitivity to sound itself, enabling performers to produce a rich and expressive tonal palette.
Musical Reference and Repertoire
As a central musical reference, the program uses works by Frédéric Chopin—including the Nocturnes, Mazurkas, and Etudes, and whenever possible the Piano Concertos.
These works serve not merely as repertoire, but as artistic models through which fundamental principles of sound production and musical structure can be explored.
Through this repertoire, students gradually develop:
- a deeper understanding of the instrument itself
- the ability to approach a wide range of composers and styles
- and a more structural, three-dimensional way of reading and understanding the musical score.
Instruction incorporates a combination of children’s pedagogical materials, original teaching resources created by Yuji Maruo, and a carefully selected list of recommended study videos, all designed to cultivate what may be described as a truly resonant and richly colored musical sound.
Participants enrolled in the program may also submit questions related to their daily practice at any time throughout the course.
Program Philosophy
This program is intended for students who are committed to long-term artistic and technical development.
True pianistic freedom cannot be achieved through short-term instruction alone.
Much like the training found in disciplines such as ballet or martial arts, the development of physical coordination and tonal control requires consistent and cyclical study over time.
Lesson Format
The program is conducted primarily through online lessons and video lessons.
Online lessons are recommended via platforms such as LINE Video Call or Zoom.
Video Lesson System
Students record their performance in advance and submit the video to Yuji Maruo.
After careful review, a personalized response lesson video containing detailed feedback and guidance will be provided.
This system allows students to participate without concern for unstable internet connections or time differences, making it suitable for international participants.
Submitting Video Materials
Recommended Method: YouTube (Unlisted Upload)
Students create a Google / YouTube account and upload their video using the “Unlisted” privacy setting, then submit the video URL.
Alternative Method: File Transfer Service (GigaFile)
Students may also upload their video via the online file transfer service GigaFile and send the generated URL.
However, since this service imposes an expiration period on file access, it may be less suitable for long-term review.
For this reason, YouTube upload is recommended.

Initial Technical Assessment

This initial session analyzes the student’s existing habits and physical coordination at the instrument, and evaluates their compatibility with gravity-based piano technique.
Foundation Program
Five-Lesson Cycle (No Expiration)
¥132,000 (tax included)
The program is structured as a five-lesson cycle.
Through repeated cycles of study, students gradually develop deeper physical relaxation and greater freedom in tonal production.
The course also includes guidance and support for daily practice outside of lesson sessions.
To maintain consistency in physical development and avoid technical misalignment, students are encouraged to take lessons approximately once or twice per month whenever possible.
Installment payments are available upon consultation.

Along with this new partnership, we are instituting a new framework to support and elevate Yuji Maruo's musical activities and coaching environment as outlined below.
■ Relocation to a New Base in Hokkaido
To pursue his music and the profound "resonance" he delivers to you even more deeply, Yuji Maruo will relocate his atelier (his living and acoustic research base) to the grand, silent nature of Hokkaido in 2026. Within this ultimate silence, he will face the very particles of sound and further deepen his artistry.
■ The Launch of Three New Frameworks
1. The Launch of "The Maruo Method" (Global Access)
Starting March 1, 2026, we are launching the [Fundamental Tone Production Program for a "Singing" Piano], centered on video-based coaching, to make his teachings on Gravity Touch accessible from anywhere in the world. Because Maestro Maruo personally dedicates profound attention to each individual's tone and physical mechanics, our capacity to accept students will naturally remain limited. However, we will provide meticulous guidance by delivering customized masterclass videos tailored specifically to each student. (Note: All students, both new and existing, will begin with an "Initial Technique Diagnosis" session.) *Until the relocation to Hokkaido is complete, conventional lesson formats will also be available.
2. Premium Masterclasses Across Japan
While based in Hokkaido, Yuji Maruo will actively continue his performance tours across regions such as Kanto, Kansai, and Kyushu. During these visits, we will host in-person masterclasses. This creates an ideal hybrid learning environment: refining daily fundamentals through video analysis, and experiencing the physical resonance directly during his touring masterclasses. (Note: A very small number of private, in-person sessions will be available at his Hokkaido atelier for local residents.)
3. Establishment of the Official Secretariat Desk
All future inquiries regarding lessons, bookings, and other communications will now be handled exclusively through this "Official Secretariat Desk," rather than his personal social media.
